Find your inner calm at Kurrara Historic Guest House

Built as a health retreat in 1901, Kurrara Historic Guest house is once again a place to find inner peace and wellbeing.

In the late 1890s, the Blue Mountains became a popular destination for those wishing to escape the industrialised smoke and noise of Sydney.

Originally built in 1901 as a restorative health retreat, Kurrara was owned by the esteemed Dr Hall of Randwick, offering respite for his patients and other visitors who came to breathe the clean mountain air.

Now with the opening of its new Yoga Studio, current owners Iain & Evelyn have redefined Kurrara’s reputation as a centre for health and wellbeing. Soaring ceilings provide an ambient, light-filled experience. The carefully crafted 100-year-old Baltic pine timber floor provides the perfect practice space.

Retreats - offered for corporate or group bookings - include a minimum two night stay, with 1-2 classes per day. Each program is curated to include complementary activities and free time to walk or explore the beautiful Blue Mountains. Classes are designed to suit beginners/general, and no previous experience is necessary. Students work safely at their own pace with variations for injury and restrictions.

Evelyn and her teachers have undertaken a minimum of 500 hours training, with each having 12 years of yoga teaching experience. In between retreats, visitors can participate in a regular weekly timetable of classes. Groups can be catered for with delicious organic and vegetarian food.

The guest house offers boutique accommodation in nine guest rooms featuring queen eco ensembles (some with extra single beds), and all have private shower or spa en suites. Additional accommodation, if required, is located nearby. A communal guest lounge, library and breakfast room provide a place to relax and enjoy tea from the vast selection.

Set in the heart of the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park, and a mere 1.5 hours drive from Sydney, Kurrara offers visitors the perfect retreat and guarantees that you will come away feeling relaxed and restored.
