Overview

Lovers of antiques and collectibles and those who love to browse should make a beeline to the Victory Theatre Antique Centre in Blackheath, housed in a striking 1915 Art Deco building that was once the Arcadia Picture Palace. Many stalls occupy the centre’s two floors, with wares including jewellery, books, vintage clothing, paintings, dolls, ornaments, light fittings, fine china and porcelain, and furniture. The Victory Theatre Antique centre is the largest antiques centre eest of Sydney.

Description

Today, more than 50 ‘seasoned’ dealers make up the shops and cabinets in the centre, some having been there since its inception, a mere 22 years ago. This accounts for the breadth of such an impressive selection of special collectables such as: antiques and ephemera, period clothing, 19th century and 20th century vintage jewellery, Australian and European 19th century furniture and collections of pieces from Victorian, Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Edwardian and Deco through to '50s & '60s.

Once an early 20th century ‘picture palace’, this sizeable double-storeyed building can be easily recognised by its striking geometric Art Deco façade and side exterior wall displaying an unmissable colourful Jenny Kee mural of Australian flora and fauna – featuring NSW’s waratah emblem.

The Victory Theatre and Café are open 10am-5pm 7 days a week.
