A wander through the hotel’s public areas shows the labour of love that led to the Grand Old Lady’s current glorious incarnation but also allows you to feel the breath of ghosts from times long past… a past affectionately remembered in the restored details of Victorian splendour, through to the best of art deco and nouveau style including the large Ming vases by the fireplaces, the original Grand Dining Room silver, the leadlight dome and minstrel gallery in today’s cocktail bar, built to honour a royal visit no less! Walking through the hotel’s public areas, open from 11am, you can imagine yourself in the company of ghosts of times long past… a past affectionately remembered in the restored details of Victorian splendour, through to the best of art deco style; architectural details such as the magnificent stained glass facade installed by Sir James Joynton in 1913, décor, furniture and artworks found throughout the building. Stay in one of our beautifully restored accommodation rooms, spacious and charming, our 65 rooms cater for all tastes and budget with no two rooms quite the same. All accommodation includes complimentary continental buffet breakfast served in Th Grand Dining Room & Free Wi-Fi. Our popular Colonial Rooms offer an old-world experience. Situated on the first floor in the North wing, these rooms were built in 1927 and offer Art Deco style bathrooms with bay window seats and most have stained glass features Located on the first floor, our Premier Balcony rooms offer something special. Opening through French doors onto the first-floor shared balcony with valley views across Katoomba & Leura townships. These rooms feature new ensues with either a bath or walk in shower. Our Premier view rooms offer views over Katoomba township towards Mt. Tomah or the famous Jamison Valley, these rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated. Offering a large ensuite these rooms are located on the second floor of the hotel. The Lord Carrington Suite is the signature suite of The Carrington Hotel offering access to the first-floor shared balcony with views across Katoomba to the Jamison Valley. Two bedrooms with a separate lounge area, walk-in wardrobe, large ensuite with two-person corner spa and bathrobes. The Joynton Smith Suite is named in honour of Sir James Joynton Smith, the longest serving and most influential owner of The Carrington is located on the first floor. A two room Suite which also offers direct access to the first-floor shared balcony with views across Katoomba towards the Jamison Valley. Featuring a four-poster bed, separate lounge area with pull-out sofa bed, recently renovated large ensuite. The Tomah Suite is recently completely refurbished with views north towards Mt. Tomah, this suite beautifully quiet suite is located on the third. The Tomah Suite is a two-room suite with a separate lounge area featuring a pull-out sofa bed, large ensuite with bath and double shower. Our Junior suites are elegant and spacious with open plan featuring queen sized four poster beds, large ensuite with corner spa bath and bathrobes. Most Junior Suites also offer views of the Jamison Valley. Our Traditional rooms are located on the first floor in their own wing, these rooms offer the original Carrington experience with access to fully-enclosed, unisex share bathroom facilities; including showers and toilets, located at the end of the hall.
