Mountain Whispers is a boutique collection of four award-winning historic Blue Mountains homes that have been restored to their former glory by owner Lorraine Allanson. Lorraine’s vision was to provide luxurious self-contained accommodation for discerning travellers and to recreate the golden age of the Blue Mountains, when travellers from around the world enjoyed this natural wonderland in fine style.

There are four properties available for holiday rental in both Leura and Katoomba:

Varenna – Luxury Leura accommodation for up to three couples

Strawberry Patch – A romantic getaway for one or two couples in Leura

Leura Rose – Classic mountains style for one or two couples

The Gatsby – Art Deco style in Katoomba with accommodation for up to eight people

Something Special Awaits - As our reviews attest, Mountain Whispers properties are something special. Guests appreciate the personal touches, like the cosy warmth of a glowing fire on arrival, or provision of a favourite type of bread for breakfast.

Have a special request? Let Lorraine know beforehand and she can arrange it for you – from help with a romantic proposal (rose petals, candles and French bubbly) to an in-house chef or masseuse.

Each property is fully self-contained so you’ll have it all to yourself. Everything you need is provided, including full breakfast provisions for your first morning, as well as complimentary port, wine and chocolates. The kitchens are generously equipped and each home also has full laundry facilities, irons, hairdryers and more. Please check each property’s description for a full list of inclusions.
