Echo Point - Three Sisters lookout
Overview
Echo Point – Where Legends Meet the Land
Description
Perched on the dramatic edge of the Jamison Valley, Echo Point in Katoomba is your front-row seat to one of Australia’s most iconic views — the mighty Three Sisters. These striking sandstone pillars rise almost a kilometre above sea level, shaped by time, wind and water into the awe-inspiring formation we see today.
From the main Echo Point Lookout, you’ll take in panoramic views that stretch across the wilderness — from the towering cliffs of Mount Solitary to the curious formations of the Ruined Castle. It’s a place that invites both pause and adventure.
Feeling active? Wander the easy pathway out to the Three Sisters for a closer look, or take on the challenge of the Giant Stairway — nearly 1,000 steps descending deep into the ancient valley below. Whether you're strolling with kids or chasing a more demanding trail, this is the gateway to some of the most memorable walks in the Blue Mountains.
Pop into the Blue Mountains Visitor Information Centre, right at Echo Point, for maps, local tips, and insider ideas. Open daily (except Christmas Day).
Don’t miss the magic after dark — the Three Sisters are floodlit from sunset until 11pm.
