Mountain Whispers is a collection of five impeccably-restored and self-contained properties in Katoomba and Leura, promising a luxurious getaway in total privacy and comfort. From the magnificent sprawling Edwardian Varenna, to the quaint two-bedroom Strawberry Patch, each Mountain Whispers property offers a special focus, and will delight all from couples to small groups.

Description

Mountain Whispers is a boutique collection of four award-winning historic Blue Mountains homes that have been restored to their former glory by owner Lorraine Allanson. Lorraine’s vision was to provide luxurious self-contained accommodation for discerning travellers and to recreate the golden age of the Blue Mountains, when travellers from around the world enjoyed this natural wonderland in fine style.

There are four properties available for holiday rental in both Leura and Katoomba:

Varenna – Luxury Leura accommodation for up to three couples

Strawberry Patch – A romantic getaway for one or two couples in Leura

Leura Rose – Classic mountains style for one or two couples

The Gatsby – Art Deco style in Katoomba with accommodation for up to eight people

Something Special Awaits - As our reviews attest, Mountain Whispers properties are something special. Guests appreciate the personal touches, like the cosy warmth of a glowing fire on arrival, or provision of a favourite type of bread for breakfast.

Have a special request? Let Lorraine know beforehand and she can arrange it for you – from help with a romantic proposal (rose petals, candles and French bubbly) to an in-house chef or masseuse.

Each property is fully self-contained so you’ll have it all to yourself. Everything you need is provided, including full breakfast provisions for your first morning, as well as complimentary port, wine and chocolates. The kitchens are generously equipped and each home also has full laundry facilities, irons, hairdryers and more. Please check each property’s description for a full list of inclusions.

Nestled high amidst the pines and ferns sits Leura Rose, a historic Blue Mountains cottage restored to its original grandeur. Fully self-contained accommodation for one or two couples. Featuring three bedrooms, all with four-poster queen-sized beds, two bathrooms - one a dedicated spa bathroom with gas log fire. Fully equipped gourmet kitchen with large dining table. Lounge room with gas log fire and separate drawing room.

The Gatsby is a luxurious, self-contained Art Deco cottage for one to three couples in Katoomba. A short stroll to the world famous Echo Point with its Three Sisters and views across the Jamison Valley, The Gatsby is in Katoombas best location. The Gatsby offers guests luxury self-contained cottage accommodation with no detail overlooked. Meticulously furnished in authentic Art Deco style, the cottage sleeps one to three couples (3 x Queen, 1 x sofa bed) in the luxury of days gone by. Not a B & B, the whole house is yours alone so you can enjoy your getaway in relaxed comfort. The main house has two bedrooms, while a self-contained garden cottage can accommodate up to four more people with a large bedroom with queen brass bed, double sofa-bed, combined lounge/dining room with kitchenette, ensuite and a wrap-around verandah.

Varenna provides luxury, self-contained accommodation in Leura, the Blue Mountains, NSW. Your Blue Mountains stay will be relaxed and comfortable as youll have this grand house all to yourself. Sleeping up to three couples in total comfort (1 x King, 2 x Queen), the house has unsurpassed luxury and old world charm with the modern conveniences of today, all within a 200m stroll to the heart of Leura village. The lavishly appointed and meticulously restored Edwardian residence is set on 1800 square metres of surrounding gardens. Built in the Federation Queen Anne style circa 1906, Varenna retains its original period features, such as leadlight windows, decorative high ceilings. Two bathrooms, including an antique claw-foot bath (although you may prefer the double spa bath after a day of mountain activities!) and heated flooring. Central heating and air-conditioning for your year round comfort.

Cancellation Policy

All rates are based on one couple occupying one bedroom occupying other bedrooms incurs additional costs. A credit card must be retained on file to cover loss or damage of property and items. The person making the booking is responsible and accountable at all times and will be charged accordingly. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure adequate funds are available on their credit cards to cover the length of their booking. Where cancellation of a booking is requested a minimum of 14 days written notice prior to your accommodation commencement date is required to ensure that your payment is returned to you less $50 administration fee (per property). Where written notice is provided less than 14 days your payment may be forfeited. In these situations genuine attempts will be made to re-book for the same period of stay and where a re-booking can be secured your payment will then be returned to you less $50 administration fee (per property). Where you do not arrive all payments received to confirm your booking will be forfeited to Mountain Whispers™ and the intended dates released.
