At six shillings a night, Kurrara was very much a high class establishment run by Mrs. Wilkins, Proprietress, and then Miss Bridges in the years that followed. In 2012 Kurrara was purchased by current owners Iain & Evelyn who implemented a program of refurbishment.

Today guests can choose from three luxurious downstairs spa suites with 4-poster beds, or 5 upstairs rooms with shower en suites. Kurrara is filled with antiques and sumptuous textiles in keeping with the Victorian era, yet it has retained its homely feel.

All guest rooms have new eco beds and are well-appointed with central heating and Wi-Fi. Guests can relax in big comfy leather chesterfields, enjoy conversation over a selection of 50 different types of tea and coffee, or read a book from the eclectic library.

Kurrara offers a unique experience for visitors to the Blue Mountains. Located on a quiet corner in amongst mature gardens, Kurrara is mid-way between Katoomba Town Centre and Echo Point, and within walking distance to Leura Cascades and popular bushwalks.

The recently built yoga/retreat space at Kurrara is fully equipped and can fit 18 yoga mats. An ambient, light-filled space, crafted with recycled timbers, invites you to 'find your inner calm' under the guidance of our experienced and qualified yoga teachers. Aside from a weekly timetable of yoga classes, Kurrara will curate a yoga retreat for your group, with a range of complementary activities to suit your needs.
