Brett Groves is a Wiradjuri artist living and working on Wiradjuri country at Lithgow. He runs a gallery in Main Street Lithgow.

His exhibition is called 'Ngayirr' (a Wiradjuri word meaning sacred, mystery, secret). Under the quiet reverence of Wiradjuri Country, Brett Groves invites you into a deeply personal and cultural journey through his solo exhibition of ceramics and paintings called 'Ngayirr'. Each piece is a layered remembrance — a sacred echo of what once stood, what still whispers beneath the soil, and what must never be forgotten.

"Art for me is more than expression — it is a deep remembering" Brett says. "It is my way of gently guiding people back to Country, back to story, back to the truth that has always been here. Through colour, shape, and shared experience, I seek to mend the long and painful disconnect that hundreds of years of disregard have created — a disconnection from our ancient Aboriginal history, our culture, our lore, and from the kindness we owe each other and this Earth."

Plinth Shows are a project of Arts OutWest, showcasing a different local artist's work on plinths in a different visitor information centre in the NSW Central West each month.
