The Blue Space Film Festival is a sci-fi film festival with a retro theme being held at vintage cinema Mount Vic Flicks in the beautiful Blue Mountains on Friday the 21st and Saturday the 22nd of October 2022. Movies to be shown include: 70s enviro space masterpiece Silent Running; The Andromeda Strain; Videodrome, the 1982 version of The Thing; The Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D; and more recent works which have become instant classics such as Lucy and Ex Machina. Some of these movies haven't been on the big screen for light years and who knows when they will be let out of the vault again?
There will be a Midnight Creature Feature screening at (you guessed it) midnight each night. On the Saturday night there will be a talk by movie critic and author Simon Foster and a dress up comp hosted by Jay Katz with $300 in prizes courtesy of Geekdom. So whether you are a sci-fi freak, just want to revisit your childhood favourites or missed these gems the first time around, time to dust off the old stormtrooper uniform and blast off to the Blue Mountains in October.
