DESCRIPTION:The Portland District Motor Sports Club was formed in April 198
5 but the club always travelled to other tracks as they didn't have a trac
k at the time. After several attempts to acquire some land we finally got
the sports ground at Cullen Bullen\, although the ground can still be used
for other sporting activities\, we were able to set it up for speedway. W
ith the original track only being 385mtrs we have some great racing. The tr
ack opened in April 1991 with Armco fencing. In 2021 the raceway went unde
r a major safety upgrade with the construction of new concrete wall\, new
4.5mtr catch fence\, new LED track lights and LED traffic lights. Track Fa
cilities: The complex has septic toilets\, brick grandstand\, portable toi
let block in the pit area and we have 2 canteens one in the pits the other
under the grandstand in the spectator area. They run ten speedway meetings
per year. The track is unique for its 400mtr x 16mtr wide granite and cla
y surface which suits a lot of open wheeled divisions.Their club members r
ace Junior Sedans\, Street Stockers\, Fast Fours\, Super Production Sedans
. They often feature other divisions: Compact Speedcars\, Lightning/Litre
 Sprints\, AMCA's\, Fender Benders\, Vintage Sprintcars. https://www.visitb

DESCRIPTION:Superposition is an invitation into entanglement: a multi-day a
rt and culture festival of performance\, music\, nightlife\, visual art an
d installation\, conversation and gathering\, held in and with the Blue Mo
untains. The name comes from three places. From quantum physics\, where a p
article exists in multiple states until they are observed. From geological
stratigraphy\, where rock layers hold story\, time and pressure pressed i
nto form. From wave energy\, where separate forces meet and combine into s
omething neither could make alone. The festival works with artists to crea
te expansive possibilities\, rewarding those seeking layers of meaning and
experience\, and catalysing distinct forces and ideas to meet in the open
and change each other. The festival amplifies the artistic\, ecological\,
scientific\, spiritual and community life in this place\, and offers it a
contemporary frame and a wider connection. The festival is a portal\, not
 an escape. Be enveloped in landscape\, art\, movement\, weather\, ritual\,
nourishment and complexity together. For four days\, Superposition opens a
temporary space inside the real world where our communities and artists p
hysically inhabit different ways of being: with each other\, with time\, w
ith place\, with pleasure\, with loss. A hopeful invitation to create the
conditions rehearsing better futures. What a fun time. https://www.visitblu

DESCRIPTION:Fantastic Forms captures the energy\, movement and colour in th
e expansive creative practice of Merric Boyd (1888-1959).This vibrant\, ab
undant and joyful exhibition celebrates the endless creativity of the huma
n imagination with over 200 drawings and ceramics from the Bundanon Collec
tion\, in dialogue with contemporary works by Rubyrose Bancroft\, Stephen
Benwell and Nabilah Nordin.Considered Australia's first studio potter\, Me
rric Boyd began working with clay in 1910 when the medium was not widely u
sed. Alongside pottery\, drawing formed the backbone of his practice from
an early age.Nabilah Nordin is a sculptor whose practice 'unlearns' correc
t methods and techniques to maintain a state of conscious naïveté. Interes
ted in material invention\, her installations embrace wonky craftwork\, pl
ayfully celebrating the visceral and the anthropomorphic. In his ceramics a
nd bronzes\, Stephen Benwell both references and challenges classical form
s\, presenting fragments of full statues\, suggestive of archaeological fi
nds\, alongside busts and statues of the human figure.Rubyrose Bancroft is
a Bundjalung artist who began experimenting with Plasticine claymation at
home in 2020\, during Covid lockdown. Her work in Fantastic Forms uses hu
mour and escapism whilst exploring biblical and cosmic themes from a First
  Nations' perspective. https://www.visitbluemountains.com.au/this-month/ev
