Dwell is a series of acrylic paintings on scrolls inspired by the natural surroundings of artist Peta Hinton’s home in the Blue Mountains. Symbols, repetition and pattern are used to represent the features of the landscape and the effects of season and the elements. These landscapes are also philosophical musings on growth, aging and the passage of time. After completion, the paintings on paper are mounted by the artist onto scrolls. When hanging, scrolls have a floating ephemeral quality, further reflecting the themes explored.
