Welcome to the World Heritage Blue Mountains Experience

AUTUMN in the Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon region during March, April and May is synonymous with crisp, cool weather, spectacular colours and a diverse range of indoor and outside experiences.

Located in this wonderful Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Listed zone, we are surrounded by many unique autumnal sights, not least the spectacular colour variations of the wonderful temperate gardens with their flaming reds, russet browns and golds contrasting with the rich colours of the native trees and flowers.

As the weather is turning cool, autumn is the perfect time to warm up with outdoor activities. Explore a portion of this magnificent region on foot, horse, bike or 4WD or try to grasp the vastness of this million hectare global treasure by helicopter. Visitors can discover the region through one of our professional adventure or tour operators or independently via one of our driving trails.

If ambling about the countryside in a leisurely manner is more for you, mushrooming is the ideal autumn activity in the State Pine Forest plantations near Oberon. Drop into Oberon Visitor Centre for advice on the best locations for gourmet foraging and to pick up an information leaflet on how to identify mushrooms and some handy safety tips.

Blustery rainy days are a great opportunity to take in Theatresports, music, plays, historic tours and dining at indoor locations, and do make time to take part in one of the many indigenous cultural and educational experiences on offer throughout the region.

An autumn 2012 visit to the Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon region could also mark a new beginning for you - as the proud owner of a luxury 1930s classic-style Bufori sports car.

Visit www.visitbluemountains.com.au/winabufori.php for more details.

Add to this the popular Blue Mountains Annual Blues and Roots Music Festival; TomahROMA at Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens, Mount Tomah; Sydney Writers Festival; Mount Victoria Village Great Train Event; The North Face marathon; Ironfest at Lithgow, and there's plenty to do throughout the autumn season.

Don't forget too, autumn is the time to plan your Blue Mountains Yulefest experience when many venues offer Christmas-style celebrations. During the magical winter time (June, July and August) while cold winds blow and the occasional snow falls, experience warm hospitality, log fires, Christmas fare, sing-alongs and even Santa.

Enjoy the Blue Mountains Lithgow and Oberon region in autumn. Easy To Get To. Impossible To Forget.
