On the Valentines weekend, Jenolan Caves offers a choice of two incredible opera experiences. At Saturday’s ‘Grand Arch Valentine’s Concert', mighty voices will resonate through Australia’s biggest open cave.
Concert-goers will not need to be opera fans to recognise favourites from famous productions, including Rigoletto, The Barber of Seville, Cosi fan Tutti, Carmen, Carousel and Phantom of the Opera.
Culture seekers should bring folding chairs, blanket for two, wine, and nibbles to Jenolan’s Grand Arch.
The Underground Opera Company presents the masterful talents of national and international performers: Sophie Wotton; Eleanor Varnes; Lionel Theunissen; Glenn Lorimer (former principle and soloist for the Scottish National Opera Company and the London Opera Company) with the sensational John Woods on piano.
This is an opportunity to experience artists at the top of their field, in one of the world’s finest cave systems.
A range of excellent accommodation is available. For dinner, concert-goers can order a gourmet picnic to enjoy during the concert, or if they arrive early they can choose from the buffet in magnificent Chisolm’s Restaurant.
