Situated in the Central Tablelands at an altitude of 1,113 metres, Oberon is the highest town in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Region. - Evans Crown - is a spectacular granite formation, great for bushwalking and nature spotting.

- Yerranderie - explore an old silver mining ghost town.
- Farming - drive through pristine beef and lamb production country.

- Beautiful gardens - scattered around Oberon are open during the Oberon & Villages Spring Garden Festival. Two of the highlights are the Falkirk Daffodil Garden and Mayfield Garden.
- Local Villages - O'Connell, Black Springs, Tarana, Hampton, Rockley, Hartley & Burraga - are filled with historic places of interest and charm.
- Oberon Tarana Heritage Rail project will eventually restore the heritage railway line and provide bushwalks and cycling opportunities between Oberon and Tarana.
- The Oberon Museum is located adjacent to the old Oberon Railway Station. It has a blacksmith's shop and many other items of local interest.
