Blue Mountains Tourism Ltd
Blue Mountains Tourism Ltd (BMTL) was established in October 1998. It is a not for profit public company limited by guarantee, owned and operated by the local industry.
Blue Mountains Tourism Ltd is endorsed by Tourism New South Wales as the official regional tourism organisation for the Blue Mountains Region, which includes the cities of Blue Mountains, Greater Lithgow and the shire of Oberon.
The Vision and Mission is that:
The Blue Mountains region will become Australia's premier nature-based recreation destination, and an internationally recognised leader in sustainable tourism practices.
Business and Marketing Plans are developed in consultation with the industry. They include a range of strategies including tactical advertising, collateral and website development, public relations and trade development activities.
Our destination marketing benefits all BMTL members by increasing visitation to the region and profiling the region to our major target markets.
Blue Mountains Tourism's activities are funded through contributions from:
- Our three member councils
- Tourism NSW
- Membership fees from the local tourism industry
- Contributions to co-operative marketing opportunities
Blue Mountains City Tourism
Blue Mountains City Tourism acts as the secretariat for Blue Mountains Tourism Limited. Blue Mountains City Tourism, operates the Visitor Information Centres at Glenbrook and Echo Point, and a phone enquiry and booking centre based at Glenbrook VIC.
